23rd Annual Scientific Meeting

Tuesday November 10th, 2026 - Brisbane, Queensland

The 2026 meeting of the Australasian Chronobiology Society will be held in Brisbane on Tuesday 10th November (Location TBD)

Our keynote speaker will be Professor Tami Martino who will be speaking to us on "Timing is Everything: The Heart, the Clock, and the Future of Medicine."

Tami A. Martino, Ph.D. is a Professor of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph and founding Director of the Centre for Cardiovascular Investigations (CCVI), a major hub for cardiovascular research and training. She received the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada Career Investigator Award in Circadian Medicine & Heart Health, and the Distinguished Chair in Molecular Cardiovascular Research for her internationally recognized contributions. She is also a Guelph Woman of Distinction for leadership and mentorship in STEM, and a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal for outstanding service to cardiovascular research in Canada.

Dr. Martino’s research focuses on translating circadian biology into clinical cardiology. Her team studies how clock disruption contributes to heart diseases including myocardial infarction, cardiac hypertrophy, hypertension, and heart failure, and how aligning or therapeutically targeting the cardiac clock can improve healing and outcomes. Their work is advancing the emerging field of Circadian Medicine for Cardiovascular Disease, with broad implications for preventing and treating major health challenges such as cancer, neurodegenerative disease, infection, and metabolic disorders.
